Abstract:

Currently, besides being connected to the CERNET, many campus networks also are connected to those provided commercially by ISPs. The purpose to do so  is that, not only the operation fees for visiting domestic and foreign commercial websites are reduced, but also a back-up for the network is available for the originally relatively vulnerable single-entry scheme, thereby preventing a cut-off between the campus networks and the Internet when an ISP has a technical problem. However, this type of muhi-entry network scheme must have solutions to declsion-making based routing problems, Meanwhile, this mul ti-entry network scheme also should be able to do load-balancing, allowing the web-traffic volume at the entry points to be reasonably distributed. Usin g the Nanjing Normal University＇s campus network as an example, this paper presents an in-depth research on the multi-entry network scheme.
