Abstract:

InfiniBand, a new I/O architecture, replaces the shared I/O bus architecture by adopting high-speed serial links based on channels and scalable fabricswitched networks. Having an InfiniBand Host charmel adapter （HCA） card, a server with PCI or PCI-X bus can be connected to a high-performance InfiniiBand SAN, or a cluster with the InfiniBand intercormection. The design scheme of a high-performance InfiniBand HCA card is introduced, and some of the   key implementation techniques are studied.
