Abstract:

This paper presents a VAD-hased algorithm for speech noise suppression. This new algorithm benefits trom the VAD technology and the spectral subtraction method . First, VAD is done to noisy speech, then spectral subtraction based on the perceptual mask threshold follows to achieve noise reduction. Finally, the noise-reduced clear speech signal is obtained. Informal listening tests show better results than other methods.
