Abstract:

In this paper, the matching relationships among the word length, the computing speed and the main memory of large digital electronic computers are briefly investigated, so we can simply, conveniently, roughly estimate the probabal value of an effective digit and the word length of a computer at a cert ain speed. Meanwhile, the results of some practical digital tests are discussed.
