Abstract:

When the compressed video stream is transmitting in the channel, due to the channels instability, the data packet may be lost or damaged easily. To co unter the channel errors, we must take appropriate technical measures. At present, the error concealment technology has become one of the important comp  onents of the video coding technology. This paper presents a new spatial error concealment method based on edge detection. The experiments show that, in  the edge region, this method can make the damaged image restore better. Compared with the traditional methods, its PSNR increases about 4-5dB.
