Abstract:

The TOE NICs being used are implemented with one copy. RDMA can be a zero-copy technology, but it needs to change the programming interface and can only communicate with RNIC. A TOE-based approach to zero-copy data transmission is proposed, which transmits data between NICs and the user space with the assistance of local memory management implemented by network protocols. It does not change the application interface, and can communicate with the normal NICs. Experiments indicate that this method can greatly increase the performance of zero-copy data transmission.
