Abstract:

Background construction and shadow elimination are two important problems when segmenting video objects through change detection based on background f rames. This paper puts forth a robust background construction technology. In order to judge whether a pixel belongs to the background, a counter is used  for accumulation, which makes the constructed background more reliable. The background updates automatically to adapt to the slow changes of illuminati on. Finally, the effect of shadow is effectively eliminated according to the light reflection models.
