针对不同工作流产品采用不同的模型表示这一问题，工作流参考联盟WfMC提出了一个基于XML表示的规范化的工作流过程定义语言XPDL，用于实现不同工作流产品之间模型的转换。因此，从内部工作流模型到XPDL的相互转换就是产品在模型一级互操作的一个关键问题。针对该问题，本文首先简单介绍了XPDL；然后分析和介绍了映射过程中的一些相关问题，考虑到不少工作流采用ECA规则驱动，通过分析将XPDL表示的模型导入、转换并保存于关系数据库中，形成基于ECA规则的模型表示；最后提出了基于事件驱动执行机制到XPDL之间的自动映射转换算法。

Considering the different workflow models in the world, Workflow Management Coalition proposes a XML based workflow process definition language, XPDL. It can be used to interexchange between different model representations. Therefore, it is important to map from an inner representation of the workflow model to  XPDL for exchange. To solve this problem, this paper first introduces the structure of XPDL,and then analyzes some general issues pertaining to the mapping procedure. Because most workflow enactment services are driven by the ECA rules, we propose a mapping algorithm from XPDL to ECA as an example to show the importance.
