Abstract:

Today, as the Real-time Transport Protocol （RTP） is used more and more widely in the streaming media services such as real-time video and audio in t  he Intemet. The algorithm of RTP adaptive transmission control is an important factor to guarantee the quality of streaming media services. So, much mor e attention should be paid to the research on the algorithm In this paper, we emphasize the importance of the algorithm, analyze the demands that the al gorithm should meet and the modules which compose the algorithm, summarize the characteristics of the algorithm, and finally point out the development t rend of the algorithm in the future.
