Abstract:

Web Services provide a new technology for the integration of enterpnse apphcation environments. And in this situation, transactions are needed to maintain the consistency of the distributed data. Traditional specifications have already given solutions to the transaction processing based on Web Services. But problems still exist, such as different transaction types, compensation mechanisms, timeouts, scope sizes and so on. So wc propose a modeling approach which introduces a separale design layer dedicated to transactions. Wc consider the compensation mechanisms, timeouts and scope size problems in t he early period of design. With this model, we can make the transaction processing more clear and direct.
