Abstract:

This paper discusses the design of the GPS serial port driver based on Windows CE. The GPS driver is part of a serial port driver, which is a standard  stream interface driver. The paper discusses how to design and implement the software and hardware infrastructure of the GPS driver in detail, and we can adopt various manufacturers＇ GPS chips in our project based on the infrastructure. Finally we analyze how to handle the GPS chip power management. TThe design has been adopted in practice and proved to be correct and effective by the successful results.
