Abstract:

The LAN-based IP telephone system can not only transmit voice, but also provide different kinds of intelligent services. The PSTN gateway is the key c omponent of this system for connecting the inside network with the outside PSTN network. This paper focuses on the design and realization of the PSTN ga  teway and proposes a method to carry out the PSTN gateway. Some key issues and their solutions to the implementation of the PSTN gateway are discussed.
