Abstract:

Image compression is the important research content of image communications, the major drawback is that the decoded images exhibit highly noticeable b locking artifact near the boundaries in the transmission process at very low bit rates. In this paper, the research status quo of deblocking algorithms  is reported, the classic and new ideas are introduced, and their respective advantages and disadvantages are analyzed and compared. The current problem   in the deblocking approach and future research direction is listed at the end of this paper.
