Abstract:

Based on the computer graphics and GIS theories, this paper presents a set ot new approaches to the locating of the compound labels with multiple-attr ibute information, which ensure not only the benchmarks of labels are in their polygons, but also the whole labels are in them as far as possible. The e fficiency of locating labels is improved greatly. And these measures have been applied in the map labeling of forestry, agriculture and water conservanc y.
