Abstract:

This paper presents an algorithm for face recognition using skin color and template matching. First, skin pixels are distinguished from the non-skin p ixels using the clutter feature of skin color in the HSI color space. Then, the candidate regions of faces are extracted from the results above. In the   end, face recognition is accomplished using template matching. The experimental results show the algorithm is simple and easy-to-implement, and is satis  factory in execution time and recognition rate.
