Abstract:

This thesis starts with the discussion of the storage management strategy for the multi-application Smart- cards. Then, it analyses the shortcomings o f storing free storage management information on the EEPROM. According to the storage allocation features of multi-application Smartcards, it presents anew algorithm, that is, not to store the information on the EEPROM but to calculate free storage management information on the basis of the file chain. The simulation results show that this algorithm is more efficient, since there are less write procedures on the EEPROM in the process of storage al- lo cation and recovery.
