Abstract:

The possible reasons, which cause the anomalies in the 3 VWQ algorithm used in the three-tier data warehousing architecture to maintain materialized v iew consistency, are discussed. Timestamp is introduced to denote the consistency earmark in updating the next version materialized view. An improvement  approach is proposed for the three-tier architecture A novel compensation approach which is based on timestarap and implements the local compensation f or inconsistent updating in incremental query maintenance is also proposed in order to solve the problem of inconsistency of the process
