Abstract:

The retrieval and management of components play an important role in the component based software development, which is an effective way to support so ftware reuse. Topic map is a new ISO standard for describing knowledge structures and associating them with information resources. As such they constitute an enabling technology for knowledge management. This paper aims to apply topic maps to manage the resources of the component library, and designs the architecture of a resource management model and a component navigation model based on TM. Finally, it implements the prototype of the architecture.
