Abstract:

This paper is concerned with a method called curvature scale space image representation, which is used in the shape similarity retrieval in image databases. Along with which a small number of global parameters are used for this purpose. This paper proposes its improvement scheme and the corresponding   applications. The method is then tested on a database of 1100 images of marine creatures and other isolated objects. The results show the promising perf ormance of the method and its superiority.
