Abstract:

This paper studies the performability evaluation methods for multi-tier server cluster systems, based on which we present a new capacity planning heur istic algorithm MACPA to maximize the system performability. Simulation experiments show that the plans that the MACPA algorithm produces can achieve a relative maximum performability more than 99 % under the three-server-tier condition statistically.
