Abstract:
To meet with the requirements of designing a wide bandwidth, wide beam KuBand microwave antenna, parallel Genetic Algorithms (GA) and an improved software NEC2 are used in this article. The parallel computing system in this design is composed of several PCs and the message passing protocols among PCs are MPI. The NEC2 software based on the method of moments is used as a numerical calculation method. Designing a wide bandwidth, wide beam width and circularlypolarized microwave KuBand antenna by the traditional methods is difficult [1]. However, the singlebranch KuBand antenna with 7segments which is designed by parallel GAs in a very short design period in this article, has an excellent performance in both patterns and VSWR.
