Design of a Precision Agriculture Information Perception System Based on the Internet of Things

Abstract:

For the implementation of precision variable seeding, fertilizing, spraying and automatic irrigation, and providing comprehensive information for scientific research, a precision agriculture information perception system is designed. The system is designed based on a concept of thorough perception, reliable transmission and intelligent processing of the Internet of Things. The entire system consists of wireless sensing networks, transmission nodes, GPRS and PC management systems. The wirelessaware network is made up by perception terminals and sensors through a standard interface. The system can perceive the  crop growth environment information and crop physiology information in a realtime way, and transmits the data to the host computer management system reliably. The PC management system processes the data firstly, and then writes to the database. The data can be exhibited and issued online through the web system. Longrunning tests show that the  system performance is stable and reliable.
