Abstract:

In order to enhance the naturalness and correctness of speech synthesis and speech recognition technologies, the vowel patterns of Uyghur disyllable words by using experimental phonetics method are presented in this paper. The statistical analysis is carried upon the vowel formant frequency values in wordfront Syllables and wordend Syllables separately, and the differences between them are discussed by using Joos method in more detail . The vowel formant patterns of Uyghur disyllable words are also given in this paper.For the first time, the actual experimental data proves the tongue location features of Uyghur vowel is consistent with the traditional “hearsay” knowledge. The research results of this paper will have a high reference value for the study and application development of both Uyghur language and Altaic language.
