Application of HyperMesh meshing technology in modeling complex arch dam

Abstract:

Taking complex shape arch dam geometry as an example, a model was established with HyperMesh technology. By means of the strong HyperMesh’s preprocessing functions, a systematic study was done on the formation of model, geometry cleanup and submesh partitioning. Especially, in meshing the complicated boundary of arch dam, a variety of meshing techniques were employed in completing the highquality grids, which provides a new idea for meshing different material partitions and dam sections. The results show that HyperMesh software is highly efficient for repairing and optimizing the 3D model, and it can be better compatible with Abaqus.
