Abstract:
Taking complex shape arch dam geometry as an example, a model was established with HyperMesh technology. By means of the strong HyperMesh’s preprocessing functions, a systematic study was done on the formation of model, geometry cleanup and submesh partitioning. Especially, in meshing the complicated boundary of arch dam, a variety of meshing techniques were employed in completing the highquality grids, which provides a new idea for meshing different material partitions and dam sections. The results show that HyperMesh software is highly efficient for repairing and optimizing the 3D model, and it can be better compatible with Abaqus.
