Abstract:
By combining virtual reality and human engineering, the virtual campus system is implemented based on the Crystal Space 3D platform. It comprises of two components: data and software. The data includes multimedia data and 3D model data. In modeling phase, the objectoriented thought is introduced and a lot of texture is used to reduce the complexity of the 3D models. And using XML to describe the exported models makes them be read and parsed more easily. The software supports multiple types of input hardware, supports different roaming, queries and automatically finds its way to the pointed place and uses the school culture introduction music at the background. Therefore, the entire virtual campus not only has the characteristics of the virtual reality but also considers the “people” factor, and it provides various methods and comfortable usage environment, thus making the system more practical.
