MeiLan injection implementation technology
in virtual liver surgery

Abstract:

MeiLan injection process is one of the key steps to accurately find the location of the tumor in liver tumor dissection surgery,therefore truly simulating the injection process is crucial to the virtual liver tumor dissection surgery.To satisfy the demand for the sense of reality in virtual surgery,we propose a simulation algorithm combined with texture mapping algorithm of MeiLan injection process.The algorithm simulates the diffusion process for MeiLan injection by applying the diffusion equation,and combines it with the conformal mapping algorithm to constantly change the texture of the three-dimensional mesh surface in virtual surgery.Diffusion equation can simulate the real process of liquids diffusion on surfaces of meshes,and the conformal mapping algorithm for texture can map a three-dimensional mesh point to a texture coordinate with little distortion,so the MeiLan injection process simulation algorithm proposed in this paper can simulate the key step of virtual liver tumor dissection surgery,and satisfy the demand for reality in virtual surgery.
