Abstract:
Due to the isosurface patch, a great deal of data information of the CT images is lost. If the shapes of organs are indistinct, it is difficult to show the relation between the organs by the isosurface patch. So it is necessary to combine the CT images with volume rendering to offer dependable information to doctors. In this paper, a 3D model of the abdominal cavity is reconstructed by the Visualization Toolkit, and the result indicates that volume rendering provided by VTK is fast and highquality and can be applied to different situations.
