Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to use mobile agents to support the distributed heterogeneous database management system（DHDBMS）for information retrieval. With the characteristics of acrossplatform, autonomy and free migration, mobile agents make DHDBMS efficient in distributed database access, especially to loosely coupled databases on the nonspecific Internet.
