Abstract:
Wireless sensor and actor networks (WSANs) are composed of a large number of sensors and a small number of (mobile) resource-rich actors. Sensors gather irformation about the physical phenomenon while actors make decisions, and then perform appropriate actions upon the environment. The paper studies the allocation of single-actor tasks in WSANs, and proposes two algorithms: a centralized and a distributed algorithm. Finally the algorithms are ev valuated in JSIM.
