Abstract:

This paper presents a method of license plate recognition using gray images. The license plate recognition system contains two main parts： license lo cation and character recognition. In order to locate the plate quickly and accurately, a license location method based on characters＇ connection is pre esented. And in the recognition system, a method of recognizing a character by two times is used.
