Research on the Routing Protocol Simulation in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

The paper presents the Vehicular Ad hoc Networks and two typical routing protocols: the tabledriven routing protocol (DSDV) and the Ad hoc Ondemand routing protocol (AODV) in mobile ad hoc networks. And a practical mobility model is used to enable the simulation experiment more veritable. Then NS2, a network simulation tool, is implemented to simulate the two typical routing protocols in ad hoc networks based on Linux,and the simulation results are analyzed and compared. The result is that the AODV and DSDV routing protocols are not suitable for vehicular ad hoc networks, so designing a proper protocol is an urgent problem.
