Implementation of a Multimedia Gathering and Coding System Based on DM642

This paper proposes a scheme of the hardware design of a fourchannel realtime video coder. The paper focuses on the design of the core chips of TMS320DM642 and the audio/video chips. In addition, the storage, Ethernet, IIC and power source modules are discussed. Finally, signal simulation is discussed and some keys of PCB layout and route are proposed. The software test results prove the hardware works well and produces good visual audio/video quality.
