Abstract:

Using modeling and simulation as tools, Simulation Based Acquisition(SBA) is a comprehensive demonstration of acquisition's scheduling, cost, performance, etc. The key points include the consistency of complicated information mapping, parallelization and evolution of dynamic multidimensional simulation. Against the background of missile acquisition, the methods of multidimensional modeling and simulation in SBA are  studied. A multiscale work breakdown structure(WBS), which consists of domain decomposition, task/subtask decomposition and resource decomposition, is  designed as a basis, and the information from different dimensions is mapped to WBS consistently. After the construction of taskrelation models and attributeassociation models, and using performance as the condition of loop iteration, the simulation process is carried out dynamically and in parallel, with a taskscheduling/timeadvancing/ dimensionparalelizing mechanism. And the methods for the evaluation of acquisition risk to meet the complicated requirements with comprehensive constraints from the dimensions of scheduling, cost, performance, etc., are proposed to support acquisition decisionmaking.
