Parallelization of Laser Energy Deposition Based on the RayTracing Algorithm

Abstract:

In order to simulate the energy deposition in the inertial confinement fusion driven by laser, a geometric optics approximation called the raytracing algorithm is used in general. Because of the requirements of largescale and efficient simulations, the parallelization of the raytracing algorithm is discussed. Raytracing computation is effectively dealt with by a grouppipeline strategy which can significantly improve the parallel performance with the existing decomposition of the domain.
