An Analysis of the Influence Factors of Simulation Results of the Ammunition Temperature Field

Abstract:

Temperature is one of the key factors to influence the shoot precision of ammunition, so the question of heat preservation exists in some ammunition test. The change of the temperature field of ammunition can get from simulation in the process of heat preservation. We find out several influence factors of the simulation result of ammunition’s temperature field from analysis. Combining each factor’s characteristics we design methods to examine the extent of influence. We carry out the simulation to different mesh sizes, with or without thermal contact resistance, with different material parameters and different structure models. The process of the simulation is to condition the temperature from 20℃ to 50℃.The result indicates that the thermal contact resistance and the structure model are the biggest factors to the simulation result, and the factor of the mesh size follows it is cell number. These factors can not be neglected.
