Abstract:

Data transmission is important in distributed workflow management systems because workflow engines are widely distributed over different localities. The paper puts forward a new data flow transmission strategy in distributed workflow management systems. A workflow model representation called CDFG is defined first, and  is used to observe data flow problems. Then the paper puts forward a workflow architecture DTODWfMS with data flow transmission optimization and DFTL supporting the architecture. The designer can define the activity’s action on the data and the data flow transmission strategy between activities. The system  optimizes the data flow transmission strategy, reduces network load and improves the efficiency.
