Abstract: A fusion network architecture for computing and interconnection (FIC) is proposed, which integrates the network interface into the processor core via interconnection bus. In FCI, the XBAR structure with the characteristic of single-cycle forwarding is first designed, so long as the absence of the packet confliction, which is suitable for diverse routing algorithms and traffic workload. Secondly, the link layer protocol is designed for the packet reliability transmission, and the scramble coding measure is designed for the PCS in order to enhance the signal transmission quality and reduce the latency by increasing the bitrate disturbance. Experimental results show that, compared with the traditional network interconnected by PCI-E, FCI can improve the bandwidth by 30%  and reduce the transmission latency by 16.7%. FIC possesses the advantages of high bandwidth and low latency, and can provide the deep-fused interconnection network system with a feasible solution.
