A heterogeneous parallel numerical simulation algorithm of multi-media reservoir

Abstract:

Fractured-vuggy reservoir has the characteristics of anisotropy, wide range of medium scale changes, and complicated flow mechanism. Therefore, the numerical simulation has a large calculation amount and a complicated calculation process. Based on the heterogeneous parallel architecture, we establish the distributed parallel Jacobi matrix assembly and the GPU parallel linear equation solver, in order to achieve the CPU-GPU heterogeneous parallel multi-media model. The experimental results on three units of different sizes in Tahe Oilfield indicate that the proposed heterogeneous parallel algorithm has good acceleration effect. As the number of CPU cores increases, the parallel matrix assembly exhibits good scalability, and the simulation results are almost the same as the serial program simulation results.
