Abstract:

Based on the “axes rule” used in movie, the paper presents a simple definition of movie scene, and proposes a novel algorithm for movie scene detection. We firstly improve the  existing algorithms to detect the shot boundary , then produce the movie scene boundary by shot clustering according to the shot similarity principle we presented. Experiment shows that this algorithm can effectively detect the movie scene boundary.
