Abstract:

In this paper, the history and the current status of the multipurpose of smart cards are firstly reviewed. As for the shortcomings of traditional mult i-application cards, a new type of smart card, UCard, is briefly introduced, so as its characteristics. Then its three main functions of COS Loading, COS scheduling and environment clearing are analyzed. Finally, its future directions and some important problems are also addressed.
